For 2021, the Westerwald-Brauerei is again looking for apprentices for the technical profession of "brewer and maltster" and electronic technician for industrial engineering as well as for the commercial profession of "industrial clerk".

The classic training as an industrial clerk takes place in the various departments of our brewery, namely in Controlling, Logistics, Marketing and Sales. In a modern working environment in a "paperless" office with completely electronic filing, you will be prepared for sales - and all the related organizational processes.

  • Education duration: 3 years, vocational school in Westerburg
  • requirements: Secondary school diploma / A-levels
  • Job description: Various areas such as materials management, sales, marketing and finance and accounting
  • Opportunities for advancement: Examination as industrial business administrator or further education as industrial business administrator, study Bachelor Industrial Business Administration or Business Administration

Education as brewer & maltster (M/F/D)

Beginners, who have their talent in the technical field, discover excellent opportunities worldwide with the dual training as brewer and maltster. The brewer and maltster's versatile tasks include controlling and monitoring the entire brewing process. So to speak, from the straw to the glass. Excellent computer skills are just as indispensable as scientific understanding in the fields of math, chemistry and physics in order to guarantee the highest quality standards of beer at all times. Practical training takes place mainly in the brewery or malt house, while theoretical instruction takes place in selected brewery vocational schools. Due to the excellent quality of the training, specialists trained in the Westerwald Brewery with this classical-technical brewing profession are in demand nationally and even worldwide.

  • Educational duration: 3 years, block instruction at the state vocational school Main-Spessart in Karlstadt 
  • Requirements: good secondary school leaving certificate, secondary school leaving certificate or A-levels / entrance qualification for universities of applied Sciences
  • Opportunities for advancement: Master brewer/maltster, further training as master brewer, study of brewery and distillery technology or food and beverage technology
